Proposed Declaration of Moral Principles
Preamble of Moral Purpose
We, the undersigned, have a sincere desire to work together in order
to end the communist dictatorship of the PRC. We seek not to just reform
the Chinese communist government, but to stand firm against it, and seek
to replace the PRC with a new democratically elected government that reflects
the will of the majority of the Chinese people. We oppose the corrupt and
brutal PRC dictatorship, and will seek the support of the Chinese people
and the international community to place "moral pressure" on the PRC in
order to bring democracy to China. We pledge to use only peaceful means,
and to work harmoniously with one another, show respect to each other in
all of our actions, and uphold the highest moral standards in our movement
to end the PRC. We seek to be a democratic, pro-active, effective, and
all-inclusive international political movement guided by the highest principles
of love, truth, morality, as the basis to free our beloved China.
We fully support the struggle of all Chinese citizens who are working
for social justice and a democratic and free China.
Declaration of Moral Purpose & Action
The Chinese Government is afraid of a unified and more potent exile movement oversees; we pledge to be a highly organized and structured Free China Movement Network that will challenge the legitmacey of the PRC every oppurtunitty possible. The Free China Movement believes that China should be governed by the rule of democratic law, abide by the UN Declaration of Human Rights, and respect freedom of speech, thought, religion, and assembly. We support open and free elections in China. We call for the immediate release of all political and religious prisoners of conscience in our beloved China. We stand for the right of all Chinese to live in dignity and to have the freedom to practice their religion without the fear of persecution.
We support the open and free operation of autonomous labor unions throughout China. We want China to be a country where the government is for the people, by the people, and where the will of the Chinese people determines the government, not the government determining the kind of economic, political, and social system the people will live in through brute force, intimidation, the use of torture, and imprisonment. As an organized political dissident movement inside and outside of China, we seek to unite all Free China Movement organizations and individuals who are dedicated to these principles.
We strive to become a significant force in world politics, and intend
to successfully challenge the People's Republic of China in the media and
all political and academic forums throughout the world in a peaceful manner:
Free China Movement Action Goals
1. Unify the Free China Movement both oversees and inside China in order to establish a highly structured, visible, and effective political movement for change that is viewed as the legitimate representative of the Chinese people throughout the world and in China. Help support the development of a free trade labor movement in China. Initiate effective and significant organizing campaigns both inside and outside China that focus on human rights, supporting the rights of all Chinese citizens, and promoting democratic institutions in China.
2. Create a co-ordinating committee to strengthen communications within the Free China Movement, and carry out the action campaigns agreed upon at the annual Free China Movement Convention. The committee would manage a "rapid response network" that would ensure that the Free China Movement's position is clearly and strongly heard in the world wide media, the United Nations, the U.S. Congress, European Parliaments, and other forums that have influence on policies towards China.
3. To convene forums in the academic community throughout the world in order to tell the truth about the Chinese government, and encourage members of the world community to speak out on behalf of the oppressed Chinese people.
4. Seek to work with all organizations and individuals throughout the
international community who support the spirit and goals of the Free China
Movement stated herein. Create a Free China Movement Advisory Board that
will consist of individuals from the American and international community
who will raise funds, advise, and provide contacts for the Free China Movement.
Establish a "Free China Movement Democracy Academy" in Washington DC to
teach Free China Movement participants about democratic decision making,
democratic institutions, and how to effectively administer an organization.
