DJY US: Public Rally in front of the White House Calling for an End to Jiang's Group's Extension of State Terrorism (18 July 2004 04:53) Written by Yvonne 2004-07-06 The drive-by shooting incident that took place on the evening of June 28 in South Africa has aroused intensive attention from the international community. On the afternoon of July the 3rd 2004, a public rally sponsored by the Global Coalition to Bring Jiang to Justice (GCBJJ), the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), and Press Freedom and Human Rights League (PFHRL) and cosponsored by more than ten non-governmental and non-profit organizations was held in front of the White House, calling for a stop to Jiang's group's overseas extension of state-run terrorism. Jeff Wang, representative of WOIPFG, presides over the rally Dr. Huang Zuwei, representative of PFHRL speaking at the rally Human rights attorney and specialist on China issues, Mr. Ye Ning, addressing the rally Falun Gong practitioner Brian Nie speaking at the rally Representative of Citizen Activist, Ms. Michalska Representative of Renascence of Overseas Democratic Movement, Mr. Hu Pan Representative of Global Policy and Human Rights, Mr. Summer Student leader of the 1989 Tiananmen movement, Mr. Lian Shende Executive Director of China Support Network, Mr. Kusumi South Africa Shooting Incident Shocks the International Community Human rights attorney from Washington DC and New York, and a specialist on China issues, Mr. Ye Ning said, "The incident in South Africa really shocked me. The [Jiang] group who exports terrorism is not only the enemy of the Chinese people but also the enemy of all of humankind." One of the student leaders in the 1989 Tiananmen movement, Mr. Lian Shende, representing the Free China Movement, China Democracy Party Joint Headquarters and other organizations, spoke at the rally. He said, "The incident of shooting Falun Gong practitioners in South Africa shocked all people throughout the world. The Chinese Party's state-run terrorism is real and is being exported to other countries." According to media reports, under pressure from the international community, the South African police have established a special investigation. The police believe it was an attempted murder. It was analysed that Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong were behind this murder attempt. A representative of Fa Wang Hui Hui (Organization to Investigate Human Rights Violations), Dr. Zhang Li, discussed how Zeng Qinghong is Jiang Zemin's most trusted follower. Zeng controls the Organizational Department and the secret agents system. He helps Jiang Zemin to justify his persecution of Falun Gong by removing obstacles and manipulating the Party's thoughts, overall organization and theory. He is called "cold killer" inside the Party. Zeng Qinghong has played a crucial role in establishing Jiang's political group and having the group control the most important political and social resources in China, including the Party, politics, the army, the police, the media, secret agents, and diplomacy. Jiang's Group's State-run Terrorism The Jiang group controls all the power within the Chinese ruling Party and the Chinese government in its suppression of Falun Gong. Dr. Huang Zuwei, representing the Press Freedom and Human Rights League, gave a speech at the rally. He said, "State-run terrorism can be characterised by the following: 1) cruel punishment including torture, torture to death and psychiatric threatening; 2) making the concerned party suffer by punishing their relatives including their children; and 3) collective punishment. A representative from a bicycle tour aiming at raising awareness and halting the persecution of children in China, 16-year-old Brian Nie introduced some cases in which children were implicated in the suppression of Falun Gong. He said that in China there are 14 million children suffering this kind of persecution. Epoch Times columnist Mr. Zhang Tianliang said, "Zeng Qinghong hired thugs to kill people in South Africa. What he targeted was not an individual but the entire Falun Gong spiritual group." According to reports from Clearwisdom.net, Jiang's group has employed surveillance, arrest, abduction, home-ransacking, implication policy, imprisonment, prison sentences, forced brainwashing, abuse within the psychiatric care system, torture, shooting and killing to persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Up to the present, the known methods of torture number more than one hundred; at least several thousand healthy people were sent to psychiatric hospitals to receive abusive treatment including harmful drug injections, and at least 998 practitioners who follow the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" are verified to have died from the persecution. An attendee at the rally said that Jiang's group's persecution of Falun Gong is none other than the exercising of state-run terrorism. Jiang's Group Exports its State-run Terrorism Representative from WOIPFG, Mr. Jeff Wang, presided over the public rally. He said in a statement from WOIPFG, "This is the first case taking place outside of China in which Falun Gong practitioners attending a peaceful appeal were shot. This is an undisguised challenge to humanity, peace and democracy." A Falun Gong practitioner from Washington DC, Mr. Keith Ware, said, "A wiretapping device was installed in my house and my phone calls were monitored. How do I know about it? In February 2002 when I went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong, I was unlawfully arrested by the Beijing police and the police officers told me about it." "Not one of the millions of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners is against the Chinese government." Jeff Wang also discussed how Jiang's group exported its state-run terrorism to other countries, how they tapped practitioners' phones, threatened, harassed, and even beat overseas practitioners. He also enumerated a series of violent incidents of attack operated by the Chinese Embassies or Consulates in countries outside China, targeting Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong Practitioners' Peacefulness and Rationality are Acknowledged Mr. Zhang Tianliang said, "Falun Gong's principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance and its peaceful spirit have been recognized and praised by more and more countries and people. In perspective of morality and spirit, Falun Gong holds superiority, while Jiang Zemin has nothing." Ms. Gerri Michalska, representative of Citizen Activist said that all citizens should enjoy the rights given by the Creator. Falun Gong practitioners follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance and it is the most lofty way to seek human rights. "Nominate Jiang Zemin to be the Next Dictator to be Put on Trial." Mr. Li Dayong, a representative of GCBJJ who travelled from Boston just to attend the rally said, "The terrorism from Jiang's group and its challenge to justice, to peace and democracy is not something that can't be seen or touched; it has already touched upon our life and it fills this world and has even deeply influenced our mind." He suggested that "Anti-terrorism should start from our hearts." Executive Director of China Support Network, Mr. John Kusumi said that a humanitarian emergency has always existed in China. He said that the bloodbath in China has never ceased. It has just been transferred from the open of Tiananmen Square to behind closed doors. He stressed that Falun Gong practitioners are peaceful and nonviolent. Mr. Kusumi said that a new "genocide" is taking place in history and it is led by the dictator Jiang Zemin. He suggested that after Saddam Hussein is brought to justice, we should nominate Jiang Zemin to be the next dictator to be put on trial. Calling for the End of State-run Terrorism Mr. Dexter Summer, representing Global Policy and Human Rights, gave a speech at the rally. He said that positive changes in society were always motivated by a small number of people who are willing to make the effort and to pay the high cost. Mr. Hu Pan, representative of Renascence of Overseas Democratic Movement, said that the injustice must be corrected. An attendee at the rally announced the establishment of a grand coalition to oppose China's exporting its state-run terrorism. Mr. Lin Zhenggang, co-chair of the Washington-based Global Peace and Freedom League, said, "Let us stand in the same place and work together to oppose this terrorism." While condemning the Jiang group's terrorism, attendees also called for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong and to halt Jiang's state terrorism, as well as to bring Jiang Zemin to justice. The rally lasted for about two and a half hours. About one hundred local residents attended the rally. Close Window (07/06/2004) |
